Sand Trap Louver
Self-draining intake louver that separates airborne sand before fresh air enters the ventilation system.
Deep, drainable external blades engineered to limit rain entry at intake and exhaust openings.
Weather louvers incorporate downturned, drainable blade profiles and sill drainage to resist water penetration. Frame corners, mullions and rear openings are detailed for continuous drainage rather than trapping water inside the wall. Performance is selected at the actual design face velocity, since excessive velocity can carry rain through any louver.
Typical construction information for early coordination. Final values are governed by the selected model, approved material and project design.
| Material | Marine-suitable aluminium or coated GI |
|---|---|
| Blade profile | Deep weather/drainable fixed blades |
| Drainage | Blade gutters and drained sill/frame options |
| Finish | Exterior polyester powder coat or anodizing |
| Rear protection | Bird screen standard option; insect mesh affects pressure |
| Performance | Free area and water penetration at selected velocity |
Water-penetration resistance must be checked against test data at design airflow. Wind-driven-rain ratings apply only to specifically tested models and installation details.
