Non-Insulated Fire Rated Duct (GI)
Uninsulated fire-resistant GI duct construction where the tested life-safety system does not require thermal insulation.
Insulated GI fire-rated duct assemblies designed as complete tested systems for life-safety HVAC installations.
An insulated fire-rated duct is not simply GI duct with added wrap: performance depends on the complete tested assembly, including steel gauge, joints, insulation, fixings, supports and penetration seals. Indigo Sky fabricates to the approved system and coordinated shop drawings, maintaining required clearances and access for inspection. System selection is matched to fire direction, duration and duct function.
Typical construction information for early coordination. Final values are governed by the selected model, approved material and project design.
| Duct shell | Galvanized steel to approved tested construction |
|---|---|
| Insulation | Fire-protection boards, wrap or spray system as approved |
| Fire resistance | Duration and fire side to exact system test evidence |
| Joints | Tested flange/seam arrangement with approved sealant |
| Supports | Fire-rated hanger and fixing detail to system manual |
| Documentation | System-specific compliance and installation records |
No generic fire rating is claimed. Fire duration, test standard and Civil Defence acceptance depend on the exact approved assembly and authority requirements.
