Why this itinerary is designed this way
The Maldives is priced per resort, not per destination, so the agent's real value is matching you to the right island and season. This package uses a mid-range 5★ resort with a house reef (so you do not pay for daily excursions) and a water-villa upgrade for two of the three nights. May–November can cut the same trip by 30-40%.
✔ 2 nights in an overwater villa with lagoon access ladder
✔ Speedboat or seaplane resort transfer with aerial atoll views
✔ House-reef snorkelling with reef sharks and turtles
✔ Sunset dolphin cruise + sandbank photo stop
✔ Candle-lit beach dinner and couple spa session
Best route & how to travel it
✅ Direct flight — IndiGo, Air India, Maldivian
Direct flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad make the Maldives a 4-day trip.
Alternative: Via Colombo or Dubai if direct fares spike in peak season.
✅ Speedboat for near islands, seaplane for far atolls
Transfer type is dictated by distance, not preference — and seaplanes only fly 6am to 4pm.
Alternative: Domestic flight + speedboat for southern atolls, often cheaper than a seaplane.
✅ Resort excursion or a licensed local-island guesthouse hop
Visiting a local island (Maafushi, Dhigurah) is the budget alternative for half the price.
Alternative: Guesthouse-based Maldives trip: INR 35,000-45,000 per person all-in instead of INR 1L+.
🚕 Transport Playbook
Book the transfer with the resort
Independent boats cannot dock at resort jetties. Always bundle transfer + stay for insurance cover.
Mind the daylight window
Seaplanes do not fly after 4pm. Late arrivals mean one night at an airport hotel (USD 150-250).
Luggage limit on seaplanes
20 kg checked + 5 kg hand. Extra kg is about USD 5 per kg, payable at the seaplane counter.
No cars, no taxis
Once on the island you walk or the resort buggies you. Choose villa location wisely (sunset vs sunrise side).
Day-wise itinerary
-
D1 Malé / Atoll resort Arrive Malé — transfer to the resort
Land at MLE, resort representative meets you at the gate, speedboat or seaplane to your island.
- Airport meet-and-greet + resort check-in
- Speedboat (25 min) or seaplane (35 min) transfer
- Sunset walk on the villa deck, welcome drink and canapés
Agent tip · Seaplanes fly only in daylight. Pick flights landing before 3:30pm or you will pay for an airport-hotel night.
-
D2 Resort island House reef, kayaks and sunset dolphin cruise
Full day on the island — snorkel the house reef straight off your deck, kayak at noon, dolphin cruise at 5pm.
- Guided house reef snorkelling (free with the package)
- Kayak / paddleboard + infinity pool
- Sunset dolphin cruise with champagne
Agent tip · Ask for a reef-facing villa on the sunrise side; it is the same price but a better view and calmer water.
-
D3 Resort island Sandbank, spa and candle-lit dinner
A private sandbank picnic, couple spa treatment and a candle-lit dinner on the beach under lanterns.
- Private sandbank trip + photo session
- Couple spa (60-90 min)
- Candle-lit beach dinner with a personalised menu
Agent tip · Resort spa prices are 2x local spas, but on a private island there is no alternative — bundle it in the package to save 20%.
-
D4 Malé → India Return transfer and fly home
Breakfast on the deck, resort transfer back to MLE and your flight home.
- Late breakfast on the deck
- Resort check-out and return transfer
- Malé airport lounge / duty free
Agent tip · Resorts bill everything to the room — settle with a card in USD to avoid a poor MVR conversion.
Food guide · what to eat
🍲 Mas Huni

Grilled tuna or snapper at the beach grill.
🍲 Garudhiya
Clear fish broth with rice and lime.
🍲 Coconut sambol

Indian food availability
Resorts have at least one Indian/Asian restaurant, and Malé has several Indian restaurants (Sea House, Symphony). Tell your agent if you need Jain or pure-veg meals — resorts need 72 hours notice.
Vegetarian / Jain note
Vegetarian Maldives is limited but manageable: pasta, risotto, salads and Indian curries. Inform the resort at booking.
Daily food budget
Included in half-board. Extra à la carte meals run USD 40-90 per person.
What to avoid
- Never book a Maldives trip without confirming transfer cost — it can add USD 500 per couple.
- Rainy season (May–Nov) means swell and reduced visibility; book dive excursions with a flexible date.
- Do not touch or stand on coral, and never feed fish — fines and reef damage are both real.
- Alcohol is not allowed on local inhabited islands; resort islands only.
- Avoid all-inclusive if you plan excursions daily — half board plus à la carte usually costs less.
