Hire a driver for the day
INR 2,500-3,500 for 8-10 hours including fuel. This is how Bali works — public transport is effectively absent.
Use Grab/Gojek outside tourist zones
Seminyak and Ubud shops often ban app pickups; walk 200 m to the main road.
Scooter rental only with a licence
INR 350 a day, but police fines (IDR 250,000) and hospital bills make it a bad honeymoon activity.
Nusa Penida roads
Insist on a 4x4 or new Avanza with a local driver. Do not self-drive on the Kelingking route.

- Bali's rainy season (Dec–Feb) makes island crossings rough — keep a buffer day for boat trips.

- Avoid the cheapest 'Bali swing' operators — check the harness and insurance, two serious accidents a year.
